Bio:


Born to the royal Czar family of Romanov's, AJ was known as the grand duchess Anastasia Nicholovna Romanov in her natural life. The youngest daughter of four and an imp beyond measure, the young girl grew up as her fathers pet and was allowed to run virtually free through the palace until her teenage years set in.

Adored by all and quiet content to look after her younger brother Alexis, young duchess was known for her happy go lucky nature and the source of many pranks. As her brothers illness progressed and the verdicts for his survival came in, a heart sick AJ began to grow even wilder as she tried to live enough for the both of them.

Unfortunately, during this time, political fronts grew worse and worse and her father was forced to adicate the thrown of Russia. Always a gentle, loving man, the tzar was content to live with his family away from the court until the fateful night of July 17, 1918 when enemies of the family entered the house under false pretenses.

After explaining to AJ's father that they'd been sent to escort the family away from an approaching threat, they gathered the family into the basement and executed them all with shots to the body.

Little did those men know that two of the children they murdered where not Romanov's at all but children of servants caught in the crossfire. The youngest two children were stashed inside hidden passage and lead out of the house to what was suppose to be safety. During the escape, however, guards were alerted to the fleeing party and the servants stayed behind to cover the children's path as AJ and her brother Alexis ran from the scene.

For the next six years, they were forced into hiding with various family sympathizers until the threat grew to great. In the dark of the night, AJ, now aged to 24 years and Alexis, aged to 20 and in very bad health, left their last safe house and struck out on their own.

Straight into a hell they had never imagined.

In the streets of the Russian capital, they meet a savagely handsome young man by the name of Luka. Little did they know that their terror was just beginning and would end in a double tragedy.

Thriving on the fear and pain of others, the man wove a web of deceit around the two lost heirs and soon had them firmly in his grasp. When it became apparent that he meant to use them as his little freak show, AJ sought to distract the vampires attentio away from her brother by becoming his willing puppet.

Unfortunately, the vampire had no intentions of honoring the bargain she had attempted to strike but played with her like a cat with a mouse. AJ had no idea how much time passed through the torture and terror but she was aware of her life dripping on to a cold stone floor as Luka's face laughed delightedly above her. Her last mortal vision was of that hated face turning towards her beloved brother.

When concienceness next came to her, she was laying in a catacomb beneath the surface of the city with her brothers savaged body not far away. As quickly as she become aware of her surroundings, a sudden, savage pain ripped through her stomach and brought her to her knees. The sound of movement nearby had her gaze fastening on the rats of the tomb and in her hunger she snatched up first one and then another until the pain in her belly started to lessen just a bit.

Only then did she realize what she'd become and a scream of denial rent through the air around her. At the sound of her voice, her brothers body stirred and then he to sat up, staring at her in horror. Before he could say anything though the hunger seized him too and AJ was forced to catch up rats and other living things in the catacombs for him to feed upon. It wasn't much but it was enough to give them strength enough to try for the surface of the city.

Once out of their would be crypt, the pair walked through the darkness of the capital only to be attacked by a rogue gang of misfits. Without thought, the siblings used their new found powers to defeat the bandits and then they fed from the throats of their enemies. It was instinctive and as natural as breathing even though it sickened AJ to gaze at the lifeless bodies.

From there, the pair learned to survive in the best way they could although AJ vowed to find the monster who had changed them and make him pay. By encounters with others like themselves, the brother and sister learned how to control their base instincts and AJ learned to only kill those who were deserving of that fate and how to feed without destroying the innocent when no other recourse was available.

It was also during this time that Alexis was revealed to need to feed more often and often times lost the battle against the need to kill randomly. Because of his hemophilia during life, his need for blood was a constant, undeniable hunger. It was only when he was with AJ that he was able to forestall the need to hunt so his sister made a point to always remain nearby.

Singularly devoted to each other, the pair learned to work as a team and hunt some of the worse predators of the night.

Over the years, the siblings have traveled the world searching for the vampire who inadvertently created them. AJ had come to suspect that Luka had no knowledge of the events he's set in motion and had indeed left them for dead never once believing that they would turn into creatures such as himself. Now, her sole goal besides keeping her brother alive is to see Luka again and meet him out punishment of the same sort of hell he'd consigned them too.
