Ty:
Who would have thought that going to work would make a guy so nervous? Especially when said 'work' was a place he went to almost every other day. Every nook, cranny and security camera was familiar to him; a home away from home, he could even go so far as to say. And yet, on this particular day, the sight of Screamers standing proudly amongst its fellow buildings made his gut tighten and a muscle start to tic in his jaw. He had a bad feeling about all of this. But there was no turning back now.
With Chloe at his side, Ty walked into the building with his back straight and his usual 'don't fuck with me' expression on his face. Trepidation ate at his chest, but he ignored it; pushing on with steel in his spine. His companion was noticeably quiet, and he gave her a reassuring squeeze. In no time, they were standing outside of Wulf's office, and in no time, the shit would really hit the fan.
Because, no matter what he told Chloe about his brother in arms understanding their 'situation,' and how long he'd known the shifter, there was always the very real chance that the Head of the Otherworld Council would find his woman too dangerous for the outside world and send her to the nearest supernatural holding facility. Upon which time Ty would go apeshit, the two would fight...and half of Hollywood would find itself in a crater. Nobody wanted that, now did they?
Without knocking, as was his usual custom, the skinwalker shouldered open the door and led the way inside. He breathed out a sigh of relief at the sight of the former Viking alone at his desk, hard at work. From the strange behavior he was exuding lately, Ty was half expecting to find him necking with that runaway Demon Queen from back at the mansion. Which would result in some projectile vomiting, so he was just about ready to send up a thanks to the Gods for small favors.
"Yo, Wulf," He said gruffly, motioning for Chloe to come inside. "We need to talk. There's been a...development that you should probably hear about from the source." And, in a move that was totally uncharacteristic from the touch-me-and-die skinwalker, he looped an arm around Chloe's waist and brought her up against his side. Looking sideways at her, he motioned for her to take the lead.

Wulf:
Bookwork. Wulf hated the damn stuff. It was why he usually left it to Kaera but she'd been to busy lately to see to it all and he'd promised her he'd take care of it.
Unfortunately, he was having a hard time himself staying on task. His thoughts kept rambling to a dark haired beauty currently abiding in his home. It was a state of affairs that made him randomly want to snap someones head off or go speeding home just so he could see her again. Which he was sure would amuse all the boys downstairs and piss him off to no end.
So to say he was a bit on edge when his office door barreled inward would have been putting it lightly. Leaning back, he started to relax only to land his eyes on the little vixen the skin walker had with him. The moment he did so, his sense's picked up on a strange power radiating from her and his muscles tensed in reaction. His friends words did nothing to ease this but the protective way he pulled hte woman to him did make his eyebrows shoot up.
Leaning back in his chair, Wulf gave them both a deceptively mild look. His tone was equal to it as he beckoned to the chairs that he had a feeling neither one would take
"Good Evening Chloe.... Tyreese...." he drawled out dryly
. "Just what kind of development are we talking about? Is it a beer kind of development or a strong stiffer of scotch kind?"

Chloe:
Walking through the doors of Screamers had never been so hard. Ever since that fateful night when Ty had caught her trying to boost his bike, the club had become her home in many ways. It was the one place she could go that she'd always felt safe and now.. Now it was a place that had the capabilities of seeing her freedom yanked out from under her. It was by faith alone that she followed the skinwalker through the thick oak doors and around the floor to the back of the club. Faith in Ty's ability to see her safely through the coming confrontation was all that allowed her to follow him through the door and face the most ferocious man she'd ever had the misfortune to see pissed.
Baring Ty, that was.
"Uh... Hey Wulf..." she started out, shuffling her feet nervously and then glancing up at Ty. Inside her mind, the fury shifted at the sensation of another power and she knew the moment the shifter sensed her in return. The being inside started to purr.
"Um.. its sort of a long and short story." she said dryly, moving closer to Ty and feeling his heat against her side. "See.. I kind of did battle with this chick who turned out to be an ancient fury last night...... Or at least... Some sort of container for one. " Pausing for a moment, she reached up to tuck a stray curl behind her ear and then lift her chin as she met the shifters gaze. "Turns out.. The container was ready to pass on the curse and yours truly got the prize."

Ty:
To say that Ty was tense would be an understatement; if he wasn't careful, he was afraid that one touch would break one of his arms right off. Wulf's unamused stare was making him itch, and that toneless voice of his...fuck, he knew what that meant; it was a right out question of 'WHAT THE FUCK NOW, ASSHOLE?!' A part of him was just about ready to declare everything a misunderstanding and haul Chloe out of the office before the shit hit the fan.
But he was never given the chance. Faltering, obviously nervous, the psychic told the cliff notes version of her tale. Warily, the skinwalker watched his old friend, and waited for the imminent explosion. There had to be a way to forestall it, he thought frantically. He'd have to give the shifter some assurances; proof that he wouldn't have to bring the Council to DefCon sixteen thousand because of a rampant Fury running around California.
But what the hell was he supposed to say? 'Yeah, sure Wulf, Chloe's being possessed by one of the strongest, most irritating spirits ever brought to life by the Gods, and she's in trouble of losing her mind to it and going on a killing spree...but really, we have everything under control?' Oh, yeah, Wulf would LOVE that one. Probably fall over sideways and die of fuckin' laughter. How did Wulfgar Fenrisulfr, one of the most feared and revered shifters on the planet finally kick the bucket? One of his oldest friends made a funny while the world ended.
Running a hand over his skull trim in an anxious manner, Ty cut in before Wulf could get started with his 'aw shits.' "But Chloe's learning to contain the fury...or, at least, work with it. And if the bitch wants to come out to play, I can take it. She's staying with me until she learns how to either kill or work with the fury, and she's not gonna be out of my sight. So don't you start with the doom and gloom shit, brother."

Wulf:
Well, Hell. Of all the things that he expected for the little hellion to tell him... Being possessed by a fury was NOT on the list.
It was probably a good thing he was already sitting down or he might have fallen on his ass.
For a long moment, he only stared at the young woman he'd known for years and let his mind go over everything he knew about the lore of furies. Depending on which culture they were talking, they were to bearers of vengeance, justice and retribution. Legends of the creatures stretched clear back into
the dark ages and each civilization had their own take on what they were and why they existed but one truth remained. They were unstoppable once set on a path and only rested once the guilty were punished. In other words, not something you wanted on your trial if you were guilty of some crime against the weak or helpless. His memories raced back to the one time he'd been confronted by one it and it was not a pleasant recollection. He'd almost had his ass handed to him, quite literally. The creature had been a wicked fighter and her target at the time one of his shoulders guilty of raping and pillaging a village in the west that Wulf had had no knowledge of.
She'd almost beaten him into the ground before the soldier had been killed on the battlefield where they fought and she'd suddenly ceased in her attack. He could still remember her parting words, however, and see the flash of her eary eyes. "You survive this day, warrior, for you are a worthy opponent and just in your dealings. Stray from that path though and I shall return to finish what I started."
With that memory fresh in his mind, Wulf finally let out a long, low breath. When he spoke, his voice was controlled but the tension in his frame spoke of his contained emotion. "What kind of fury are we talking here? And what the hell do you mean "container"? Last I knew, furies didn't need a mortal container and could come and go as they please." he drawled out in a heavy gaelic accent.
Glancing at Ty, Wulf took in his own stance and let out a sigh. "Relax, Gla'Dour. I'm not going to eat your woman." he continued, almost amused by the expression on his old friends face. "I wondered how long it would take you to give into the inevitable. The lass has been plaguing us all long enough with her actions as she tried to draw your notice."

Chloe:
Shifting restless as Ty spoke and then silence fell, Chloe straightened her shoulders and gave the huge shifter a defiant glare. She wasn't about to let him think he could buffalo her with that stare of his and the fury inside seemed to agree. She recongized the power before her and was not cowed so the huntress figured it was better to brazen it out rather than let Wulf think she was scared of him. Even if her knees were threatening to knock with the emotion.
"Er... well, the best I can tell is that somehow, this fury was trapped without a human body and bound to it. Evidently, it was some sort of curse to keep her contained and keep her from unleashing.. no pun intended.. her fury on the world. She is in service to some god of the ancient world and is his hand of vengeance. Until the human she resides in gives herself willingly over to her control... She is trapped inside the body. She can try to take it over or make the human want to give over but she can not wrestle complete control without her handlers agreement. That is what the woman told me anyways. She carried the bitch for centuries so she should know I suppose."
Glancing up at Ty for a second, she bit her lip before continuing, knowing what the shifters next words would be.
"And before you say it..... Getting her out is going to be more difficult than it seems. See... there is the little detail that the "container" has to be mortal injured or dead before the fury can be passed on and the removal of the spirit is an instant death sentence to the mortal handler. So.... You can understand my desire to live even if it means having to keep the fury. The bitch ripped me apart before her vessel passed her over and if she comes out... I'm dead. You could say I'm the walking dead now."

Ty:
Okay, so if anything, Ty was definitely learning something new about himself that day; he was really, freakishly protective of Chloe Reynolds. The amount of white hot possessiveness that flashed through his body when Wulf pinned the psychic with a 'oh, good GOD, woman!' look, shocked the shit out of him. THEN there was the hackle raising when his accent got heavier; a sure sign of either discomfort or anger in the shifter. His skinwalker side was having a frikken field day with this one, he thought with a little growl. When he decided to tie himself to a human, he REALLY fuckin' cinched the knot tight. Poor Chloe...she had no idea what was in store for her.
"There are different kinds of furies?" He couldn't help but ask. His brain turned back to the hazy memories of his childhood; of the myths and legends that surrounded the creatures. Once upon a time, he'd actually thought that they were just that; imaginary, just like the Gods. But he'd learned and learned quick. Clicking his teeth together absently as he thought, he glanced sideways at his woman. "Justice, I think. I remember Chloe kept on saying she had to 'hunt,' or some shit like that."
His arm instinctively tensed around her when the conversation turned to her dying, and once again, he was struck with the strength of his ties to her. Damn, but he'd never expect to become this close to her, this fast. A part of him wanted to backpeddle and run until he was back in his apartment. But he steeled himself against the familiar fear and focused on his old friend instead. "We thought it would be a good idea to let you know first, before you got wind of it another way," He said, pointedly ignoring his comment about it being about time he hooked up with Chloe. "We can't kill it...and we can't remove it. The only other option is to deal with it."

Wulf:
Damn, as if he didn't already have enough on his plates with the demonic war looming on the horizon. Now he had a fucking fury housed in a perpetually implusive hellion to deal with? This week just kept getting better and better. If it kept going, he might just have to resign his seat on the council and take his family home to scotland to hide out and wait on the fall out. Har, Har. Like that was even an option. He'd never run from anything and he sure as hell wasn't going to run from this. Not when the very happiness of his clan was at stake.
Running a hand over his face, Wulf glanced between the pair but had no trouble picking up on the protective vibe practically humming from the gladiator. Instinct told him that if he tried to contain the woman, he and the skinwalker would come to blows. And it wouldn't just be a mock battle like they all participating in now and then when then tension of the moment got to be to much. It would be a battle that would leave them both hurting and their numbers divided. Something that they didn't need right now.
"Fine.... Shes your responsibility then, Gla'Dour. Make sure she stays out of trouble and away from the Council eye. I'm charging you with her care and supervision. As long as her new state doesn't become a problem, I'm willing to bid by that. However, should it become an issue......" he finally drawled out, his tone trailing off omniously.

Chloe:
Hearing the words the ancient shifter spoke, the former huntress blew out a breath in relief. Sinking into Ty's side, she allowed herself to draw strength from him for a moment before straightening. "I'm not some idiotic ninny, Wulf. I can keep her contained.. Don't worry. I just need a bit of help learning is all." she retorted, spunk back in her voice even as she felt the fury laugh inside her head. "I don't need a jailor and Ty won't need to restrain me."
Giving the skin walker a look, Chloe spun on her heel and headed for the door. The whole thing had left a bitter taste on her tongue and she suddenly felt the need to get the hell out of there before she lost control of her tongue. Something she'd never had much control over to start with.
"I need some air.... This bitch in my head is making me edgy." she hissed out to the man at her side before she gave Wulf a wave and jerked open the door.

Ty:
Well, didn't that little declaration make Ty feel like an animal tamer. She was his responsability? Why not go right out and say 'Tyreese, Chloe is your burden to carry; so do it and she won't die.' It was no wonder why the little human turned about face and headed outside. Damn, for all of his brother's age and experience, he sure was stupid when it came to social interaction. Had politics done nothing for him?
Giving the shifter a little glare, the skinwalker was on Chloe's tail before she could make it too far outside. Catching her arm, he pulled her to a stop, ignoring the knee-jerk flash of desire that roared through him. Gods, just one touch and he was ready to take her up against the wall. This 'mated' shit was really irritating, sometimes...
"Chloe, wait," He said quickly, then proceeded to stare at her for a minute. Shit...what was he about to say? He'd been all ready to tell her the usual bullshit; the 'it's going to be okay' and 'we're gonna get through this' crap that he'd always been spoon fed. But, one look into his woman's eyes...he knew she deserved nothing but the truth.
"You're not a burden to me," He said, releasing her arm, in case the Fury felt threatened. "I don't know if you've noticed, given what's been going down, but...I'm connected to you. Literally. So, helping you with this; it's kind of a give in. And secondly; it's gonna be hella hard to learn to work with the bitch inside your head, but it's do-able. I mean...look at me. I'm always feeling like I want to take over the world, but you don't see me stealing Wulf's face and trying it."

Chloe:
Chloe couldn't even come close to explaining the tide of emotions that roiled around inside her as she stormed from the shifters office. All she knew was that she was sick and tired of always coming up short when all the cards were down. She was sick of being the one that everyone looked to to cause trouble and she was tired of feeling like the odd man out. For some reason, she'd thought.. no.. hoped... that this new development would even the playing field a bit but it looked like it only made her a burden to the one person she didn't want to be a burden too. Oh, she knew that Wulf wasn't being cruel intentionally and logically.. she totally understood his concerns but.. Damn, it didn't exactly make her estatic to know that the bitch inside made her a danger to those she loved either. Surely the Viking shifter had to realize that because he wasn't so innocent himself. Word on the grapevine was that the ancient wolf was pretty savage when you pissed him off and there were many who wanted to go up against him in a battle.
Pushing herself through the crowd, Chloe didn't even bother to try to get to the front of the club but instead ducked out the back. Breathing a sigh of relief at being away from all the noise that was making her head hurt, she didn't even realize that Ty had followed her until his hand on her arm pulled her up short. Startled, she barely restrained the need to react as she spun on him. Thankfully though, she had just enough clarity left to realize it was Ty and the look on his face turned her tension to another kind of emotion all together different. By the Gods. The man did things to her that no sane woman would be able to resist.
Realizing he was speaking, the dark haired huntress forced herself to concentrate on his words instead of the insane desire to monkey climb his body and do bad things right there in the alley. Her chocolate eyes were lit with an inner fire as she met his gaze and blew out a long, slow breath. "God, Ty.... As much as I wanted you to notice me... I never desired this. I don't.. I don't even know what to think myself... Or do, for that matter. Living with this stranger inside my head.. its like... I don't know how to describe it. Like I've got multiple voices in my head and I can't even hear my own self think."
Running a hand through her hair, she closed her eyes for a moment before continuing. "I'm always waiting.. waiting to see if shes going to try to wrestle control.. Waiting to see if shes going to make me do something I don't want to do... Watching OTHER people watch me... Waiting. I don't know if I can do this... I really don't. What if I'm not strong enough? If I so much as hurt one person who doesn't deserve it... It will kill me. It really will. Who am I to judge who needs justice delivered and who doesn't?? I'm just Chloe Reynolds. Hell, I probably even deserve a bit of justice of my own. Lord knows I've driven you all nuts a time or two."
