How can you see into my eyes like open doors?
Leading you down into my core where I've become so numb
Without a soul, my spirit sleeping somewhere cold
Until you find it there and lead it back home
Wake me up, Wake me up inside
I can't wake up. Wake me up inside.
Save me
Call my name and save me from the dark
Leading you down into my core where I've become so numb
Without a soul, my spirit sleeping somewhere cold
Until you find it there and lead it back home
Wake me up, Wake me up inside
I can't wake up. Wake me up inside.
Save me
Call my name and save me from the dark
There had always been many different types of monsters that stalked the night. Some were so hideous that they made an observer afraid to close their eyes in sleep and others so beautiful that they seduced their victim into a false sense of safety. Lately though, the world seemed to be breeding them like bunnies and every night brought a surge in violent crimes. The human polices were baffled by the increase of mutilated corpses and sudden disappearances.
Piper Hendrix knew the the truth, though.
This was no chance happening. It was the start of a war that had the possibility of ripping two worlds apart. Veils were tearing and things were escaping into earth that had no business being released. Something dark was stirring and the effects were felt in every realm, be it supernatural or merely the human dimension. The signs were not good and it was all Piper could do to protect the city she had grown to love. She could practically taste the evil magic upon the night air and it made her sick. It brought back memories of a time long ago that she had locked away in the deepest recesses of her mind. A time when a very similar taint had cost her her whole world.
Whispers had meet her ears of an emergency council meeting having been called so evidently they too felt the disturbance. Wulf Fenrisulfr was no ones fool and she had every confidence that the group of powerful immortals that lead those of their kind already were taking action. It was the whole reason they existed after all.
However, that didn't mean that she, herself, couldn't take actions of her own.
Shaking herself, the slender beauty glided from one rooftop to the next as she patrolled the city. With a keen eye out for trouble, she stood on a ledge and gazed out over her charge.
HOLLYWOOD.
The place where she'd finally found a home in which to rest. How she loved this place with its supernatural air and the lore that hovered over it. Strange things happened in the city but no one ever seemed to think twice about it. It was as normal as the breath a person took it seemed.
Suddenly, a sharp sound caught her ear and Piper was instantly on the move. Bounding from roof to roof, she soon came to a back alley where she spied two hulking figures cornering what seemed to be a homeless man. The dude was obviously terrified and the young woman immediately understood why. The approaching "men" were not men at all but hulking demon like beasts with glowing eyes.
With a quick breath, Piper lept from the building and felt herself fall only to land with cat like grace on the floor of the alley. Flipping out her sais, she took a relaxed pose and cleared her throat.
"Now, boys... Lets play fair, shall we? He's just a pesky mortal. How about something a bit more ... Sportive?" she drawled out.
Startled, the creatures whirled to face her and one gave a loud snarl. Its beady eyes focused on her and then seemed to glint with madness. As it lunged forward, Piper side stepped, twirled and then sank the dagger into its chest. Just like that, the beast exploded into an array of silver dust. The other growled in response and began to circle her.
"Thats right... Come to Momma!" Piper said, taunting it with an eeriy smirk.
