Jo has long blond hair usually worn straight. Sometimes some waves or curls are more prominent than others. She wears make-up but fairly subtle most times. Jo dresses pretty casual most of the time. As a hunter she wears practical clothes that are easy to move around in. Jeans, cargo pants, T-shirts, tank tops, flannel shirts, leather jacket, boots. She can dress up when she wants to but it's not that often that she has the occasion.

Jo is kind of a smart smart-aleck in temperament sometimes. She is sarcastic a lot of the time. She is also smart and resourceful and can hold her own during a demon hunt/fight. She also has a softer side that comes out depending on who she's with or when she talks about her family particularly her mother who was killed while on a hunt.
Jo is independent and doesn't like anyone telling her what to do. She will rebel. Conflicts with people close to her have occurred because of this. Jo does not like being treated like 'just a girl', it make her feel like they are treating her like a child and that she can't do the job. She doesn't realize that it is because they care about her and don't want her to get hurt. Or she may realize it but her desire to do the job is too strong not to pursue it.

Jo was the daughter of a demon hunter mother and a black ops/special forces soldier father. She was the only child to David and Anne Wesson. For the first 12 years of her life, things were pretty good. Not exactly normal, but as far as her family life it was good. They were a close loving family. Her father was gone sometimes because of the military so they made up for that with quality time when he was home.
She grew up knowing about the supernatural. Her parents felt it was important for her to know and be prepared. Between her parents she got some great benefits that other hunters didn't. Her mother taught her everything she knew about hunting. How to take down all different kinds of supes, how to make hex bags and some potions.
From her father she learned about weapons and fighting. She was trained in various weaponry and learned hand to hand fighting and various martial arts disciplines.
After her mother died when she was 12, she was raised by her dad who decided to retired from the military to take care of her. She also inherited her mother's hunter's journal after she died. Her mother's death was difficult but she and her father took care of each other. Bringing them closer together.
Jo went on through high school. Her dad trying to make life as normal as possible for her. Since he retired from the military he had started to dabble in hunting himself. So, her training continued.
When she turned 14, something odd happened. She started to be able to sense the feelings of people around her. At first it was just random snippets of something that she knew wasn't her own feeling. Someone sad or angry. As she got more familiar with the power she was able to hone it. She can usually find the person who's emotion she senses, unless it's a large crowd.
The power grew and got stronger. Soon she learned that she could affect things to a certain extent. Like she could send out like a calming vibe or go the opposite way and ramp up someone's feelings.
Later, she developed another ability. She wasn't sure if it was related to the original ability. Perhaps because she had some kind of affinity for people she was able to do this. But, she found she was able to heal people. Again, this power got stronger as she learned how to use it. While she can in know way resurrect the dead, she can heal some major wounds and injuries. OR at least heal them enough so the person doesn't die before they can get to proper medical attention.
These days she been hunting on her own mostly. Her father is semi-retired and living back in Tennessee. She recently has come out to Los Angeles as there seemed to be some strange activity in the Hollywood area.
