Stories, legends, myths. These things had once been thought of as fiction. Unreal.
For hundreds of years, the veil between humanity and the supernatural has existed. A clear and distinct line had been drawn in the sand. Only those with what is known as 'the sight' could see past the veil and into everything dark and unfathomable that of which existed on the other side. The supernatural exist. They had once been hidden from the eyes of humanity but this is no longer the case. Arthur Pendragon of legend and myth, corrupt by the darkness of a daemonic curse has unleashed upon the world a spell by way of Morganna that has given the sight to those who had been sightless. Humanity now sees with eyes wide open what has been hidden for so long. The supernatural have been outed and the consequences have thrown the world into an unsteady sense of disarray.
Magic now fills the streets of New York, Paris and London. Some countries and cultures have readily accepted these changes while others have put strict censures on certain archetypes. For example, vampires and lycan are banned from the United States but France welcomes all of the supernatural with arms wide open. Awakened, Angelus and Hunters are now seen as gods and saviors to the stereotyped threats of the Vampire, Lycan and Daemon. Seelies in their incarnations are now worshiped while they simply wish for their normal lives. The humans are not the only ones to have their biases. The supernatural of Heka City has now closed their doors to all things human and trespassers into this magical city are quickly removed or jailed.
The Unreal City, once known as Paradise Found remains a capital for the citizens of the supernatural world and a place to call home outside of the confines of the Real and the new pressures being revealed has brought. It is unclear if ever the world outside of these walls will ever embrace the supernatural but not all have rejected these new and awe-filled things. Humans flock here to see miracles happen, but find out quickly enough that for every good, there is a bad and the Unreal City is still a very dangerous place. It has been five years since the veil has been lifted and for five years the world still struggles to come to terms with what has been revealed.
BLOOD AND THUNDER is an original RPG that pulls from many different sources of inspiration. The entire concept behind it is "What if fictional characters or concepts did exist?" The RPG has been running for two years and has since undergone many changes as now instead of being a secret, the supernatural are a part of everyday culture. It's a fresh start for those who are looking to jump into the next chapter as a starting point. We pull from a great deal of fiction to make this hybrid world. We accept characters from any sort of fiction, as long as they are adapted to our story and concept. Original characters are welcomed and encouraged as well.
