Abilities:
Born half Fae and half human of an ancient line of witchs and warlocks, Marissa combines the abilities to use Fae and ward magic. Her fathers lovers all had something unique about them and Marissa's mother was no different. She possessed the ability to cast wards and mend ripples in the fabric between the realms. That was how she met Adam and passed her powers on to her daughter at her birth.
Luckily, these powers were actually given unto her female maternal line by a long ago fae so it works well with her other half.
Along with those abilities comes the ones given to her from her Fae heritage. She can shift time and space along with glamoring magic and reality altering. She is still discovering her full power but as the last female of the royal line, she has the potential to become the most powerful Queen of the Fae yet... If she can learn to curb her temper.
Personality:
Rissa is a fun loving, carefree nymph with no desire but to see the best in everything. Unfortunately, she seems to attract trouble and constantly lands in one mess or another. Her outgoing personality makes her the life of the party but her clumsiness makes it a bit hard to keep her new friends because she usually ends up doing something that is awkward to say the least. She is also the snoopy sort and can be found putting her nose in business that she really shouldn’t and making an absolute pest of herself if she thinks she has been slighted or wronged.

Bio:
Marissa was born the second child of Abigail and Marcus Skye and brought up in a very typical American teenager world. Ever since she can remember, she's been the bubbly, happy go lucky daughter with the perfect family... ALMOST.
Along about her junior year in college, Rissa returned home to find that her older brother was going dark side... LITERALLY. On a weekend home from her successful term at the University of Florida, the pretty little blond walked into what she likes to term as "THE TURNING". "THE TURNING" was a ritual being held in her own back yard by a bunch of drunken college frat boys and her older sibling.
As she watched in horror, the idiots summoned a demon that took the lives of several others before rewarding her brother for all the hard work he'd done. Unable to understand or reason out what she was seeing, Marissa had tried to leave only to have the demons attention turned upon her.
And that’s when the trouble truly began.
One moment, she was happily unaware of any magical ability and the next.. She’d thrown up what seemed to be an invisible shield. She didn’t know HOW she’d done it… Just that she had and it held. The demon couldn’t seem to get around or through it so she'd breathed a sigh of relief and dialed 911 for help.
When the police came, the demon fled and her brother was arrested and prosecuted for the murder of five other frat boys with her testimony. Her mother and father were devastated but admitted to thinking that Evan might be into something unwell after finding a black book with latin spells written in it.
Unfortunately for them all, they had thought it a phase and hadn't realized how serious it was.
After the trial, things grew tense. Sentenced to life in prison, her brother promised her retribution and shortly after that, her parents died when their car mysteriously went off the road and crashed. It was ruled an accident but Marissa detected magic in effect.
Fearing for her own life, the young woman began to learn everything she could about the thing that had held off the demon that fateful night. And can you imagine her surprise when she suddenly found out that her line was one of warlocks and witchs?
Let me tell you, it stunned her to say the least and lead her to the discovery of where her brother had gotten the idea of playing with black magic. That discovery also lead to many other gruesome crimes he'd commited and she solemnly vowed never to fall on to that path herself. However, the more she studied and the more she learned…. Well, the more baffled she became. What had happened that night didn’t seem to be what the books talked about but….
Who was she to argue, right?
Deciding it was the better part of valor to just ignore the whole dang thing, the young woman turned her attention to other things and finished her schooling. Every once in awhile Evan manages an attempt on her life but otherwise… Its been a pretty good life.
Over the years, Marissa has both avoided magic and been drawn to it.
Lately though, it seems that the fates have different plans for her as more and more occurrences have been happening leading her to use her powers. Not to mention that more demonic powers seem to be intent on destroying the earth and... well.. Rissa just doesn't like that idea.. It interferes with her shopping time to much!
And HEAVEN FORBID she break a nail saving the world! Hell hath no fury like a woman with a hang nail!
Currently, she is being held captive by a devilish Fae with an evil plan to take over the world. Good thing for her that hes as curious about her as she is about him because things are not all they seem.
RP Sample:
One week. Seven days since she’d been brought to this compound and since she’d been locked in these rooms. Granted, some of that time had been spent learning deliciously naughty things from her big bad wolf but still… One week was long enough for one Marissa Abigail Skye to grow extremely bored. And everyone knew that a bored Rissa was like a time bomb just waiting to explode. Oh, to be honest, the little witch tried to stay out of trouble. She really, truly did. The last thing she wanted to do was get eaten by the beast her lover turned into when he was angry but …. Well… There was the BOREDOM.
That pesky thing wore away at her until she forgot her fear of her captor’s wrath and began poking around in the various trunks he left lying in his suite. It wasn’t so much that she was being snoopy… It was just that she often times found herself at loose ends and the temptation to peek was simply to much for a curious witch to resist. Forget the cat.. Curiosity killed the witch.
Keeping one careful eye on the door, the pretty blond currently sat in front of a huge chest and held what looked to be a very old and very rare manuscript. It was just one of the many prizes she’d found in the chest and even now couldn’t believe she’d actually seen. She felt a bit like Aladdin in the cave of treasures but it was the book she now opened that truly held her attention.
The moment she’d touched it, she could practically feel the magic it held come to life. Drawn as if by a power she had yet to understand, she traced the parchment inside the leather binding and knew it to be hundreds if not thousands of years old. The language was something akin to latin but the symbols drawn were strange and unique. If she’d had to guess, she would have said that they were druid in origin… Maybe even older than that.
Carefully turning the pages, the witch frowned over the writing and then frowned some more as one passage caught her attention. Leaning over the book, she squinted her emerald eyes and painstakingly worked her way through the words aloud. As she did so, a tingle started at the base of her spine and several times, she stopped her work to look around and make sure she was still alone. Assured of her privacy, she would immediately go back to work and mutter her way through the section.
Once she had all the right connotations, Rissa sat back and gazed at it thoughtfully. It was a spell of the Fae? What on earth? Weren’t’ the Fae supposed to be only myth? How on earth had Corbin come to be in possession of such a thing? She couldn’t quiet make out the jest of the meaning but it seemed to be some sort of protection incantation. Biting her bottom lip, she considered for a moment and then got to her feet and moved to the table where she and her beast had been eating. Since the spell called for the blood of the invoker, she set the manuscript on the table and then picked up a small, wicked looking dagger.
Sending another glance at the rickety closed door, Rissa debated for a moment more and then leaned over the book again. Saying the words with more clarity than before, she carefully made her way through the summoning and then raised the blade to pierce her own palm. No sooner had she done this and the first drop of her blood hit the page than a sharp explosion of magic rocked the room and blew the woman back to sit on her haunches in the dirt.
Fearful that the others in the compound would have felt the tremor, Marissa looked first through the billowing dust to the door. When no one immediately flung it open and demanded to know what she was doing, she breathed a sigh of relief and raised a hand to push back her mop of wild blond curls.
Turning her attention forward again, she was looking at the ground getting ready to push herself to her feet when she realized that a set of very long.. very SHARP claws where standing not three feet from her own suddenly tiny limbs.
Forgetting to breath, she allowed her green gaze to travel along those claws, up a scaly pair of legs, over a massive chest and to a set of burning red eyes that hovered over an elongated snot with razor sharp teeth.
“BLOODY HELL!” she muttered, crab crawling back as she registered that her spell hadn’t summoned protection… It had summoned a bloody freaking DRAGON! “THIS IS SO NOT HAPPENING!”
Cocking its wide head at the being on the ground, the lizard looking reptile clicked its talons and then raised one to itch its nose. As it did so, a burst of flame flew out and it growled. Its bright gaze narrowed and it seemed to almost huff in indignation as it prowled forward and eyed the woman with curiosity.
“What is it you require of me, Mistress?” it hissed out in a deep, rumbling cadence.
Staring at the creature, Rissa took in its huge frame and then blinked at its question. Risking a quick glance over her shoulder to make sure she was the only one in the room still, she quit crawling backwards and tilted her head to look up at the “thing”.
“Mistress?” she squeaked out.
Frowning, the dragon glared down at her.
“Are you not the fae that summoned me?”
Confused, Marissa shook her head.
“Ummm… I’m not fae but.. I might have… accidently… summoned you… See… Um… I didn’t realize that that spell was actually for…. I thought it was for protection…”
Huffing, the creature flicked its tail and sat back on its haunchs. Its red eyes glowed as it disdainfully picked at its teeth with a claw.
“Only one with Fae blood can summon me… Therefore, you are Fae. As for protection, I am an otherworld guardian. The spell you cast calls one of my lineage into being so that we might “protect” the one who summons us. “
Turning its gaze to the rooms around them, the dragon rose once more and began to sniff at the various articals laying around. At the bed, it snuffed and then reared back with a disgusted face.
“There is a shifter here… Is that why you called me forth? You wish me to eat the dog? I haven’t had a good wolf in ages…”
Blinking, Marissa forgot her fear and jumped to her feet.
“YOU WILL NOT EAT CORBIN!” she ordered the creature. “In no way, shape or form shall you harm him…OH GOD!! WHAT HAVE I DONE!” she finished on a cry.
Shrugging, the dragon went back to investigating its new quarters.
"God didn't have anything to do with it, nymph."
Rushing back to the book, Marissa frantically tried to find a return spell.
“If I brought you to reality, I should be able to send you back….”
Snorting, the dragon rolled its eyes and then headed back for her. Since it took up a good half of the room, it didn’t have far to go.
“There is no rescinding spell, Mistress. I am yours until you cross over into the Ever After. By your own blood you have sealed the pact and now have me as a familiar.” It said in obtuse satisfaction.
Groaning, Rissa glanced over her shoulder at it and jumped when she came face to snoot with the thing.
“OH Curse me back to the turn…. Can’t you take a smaller shape or something? I can’t bloody think with you looming over me!”
Shrugging, the dragon thought for a moment and then began to shrink. Drawing a breath of relief when it suddenly became the size of a large dog, the witch stared at it and then remembered something it had said. Yelping, she eyed it and blurted out.
“And what did you mean when you said I had Fae blood? I can tell you that there is no such thing in my family! There’s no such thing as Fairies! And.. DID YOU CALL ME A NYMPH? I AM NO BLOODY NYMPH!”
Rolling its eyes, the creature used a back leg to scratch its ear and then laid down. It looked so funny laying there that Rissa had to blink a few times to assure herself this wasn’t just some weird dream she was having.
"If you say so, baby cakes. You modern day mortals are so mundane in your thinking. Its no wonder the otherworlder's prefer to hide their existence."
Gasping, the witch closed her eyes and hoped this was some sort of insanity.
“That explosion really knocked me out, didn’t it? I’m laying unconscious on the floor over there and this is just a bad nightmare, right?” she asked the “mirage” hopefully.
When it shook its head and gave a snort that blew fire out and set one of Corbin’s prize furs on fire, she gulped in resignation and quickly batted the flame out.
“Sorry to disappoint you there, cupcake… Hate to break your disillusionment but you have fae blood or I wouldn’t be here now. Best get used to it. Don’t know how you survived this long without realizing your true self.”
Unable to stand of her own accord any longer, Marissa dropped down in a nearby chair and stared at her new charge with disbelief. She had really done it this time. Corbin was going to eat her for sure. Not only had she snooped through things that didn’t belong to her, she’d managed to unlock fae magic and now was in possession of a sarcastic witted dragon familiar. Oh Happy Happy Joy Joy. She was a dead woman. Er... dead nymph if the dragon was to be believed.
“I don’t suppose you can.. hide or something? I really REALLY don’t want Corbin to see you.”
Rolling its eyes, the dragon eyed her caustically and then went back to picking its teeth.
“You got anything to eat here? I’m hungry. Being summoned takes a lot of energy. Don’t suppose you have an extra wolf or two laying around you wouldn’t miss?”
Wanting to cry, the witch put her head in her hands and then heard the sound of a loud snarl from somewhere in the compound. Panicked, she looked up and glared at the creature.
“CORBINS COMING!!! YOU HAVE TO HIDE… NOW! AND NO EATING ANYTHING!!”
Huffing, the dragon glowered at her hard and then began to shift once more. Before she could blink, it had disappeared and something hot wrapped around one of her ears. Reaching up, she gasped when she felt a silver object encircling her ear. Rushing to the huge mirror by the bed, she stared into the glass to find a brilliant dragon shaped ornament hugging the whole of the appendage.
“Fine, Mistress… But your wolf will sense me. I reserve the right to eat him if he threatens you.. That is my duty.”
Hissing as steps sounded outside the room, the witch turned to look at the door and plastered on an what she hoped was an innocent look. Oh yeah.. She was definitely dead this time. She didn't think her not knowing about her fae blood was going to appease him. How on earth was she going to get him to believe that she'd had no idea what she had been doing? She'd only been hoping for a simple PROTECTION spell! Protection she'd gotten but simple was not even in the ball park.
