No one can tell me answer me why
I’m watching the world as it’s crashing me by

Though she was born human, Eva has the strange ability to be able to read other peoples’ minds. She has since learned to control her gift, but when under times of stress, she has problems shutting others out. At the same time, if she concentrates hard enough, she is able to control the flow of others’ thoughts, and can twist their minds into whatever direction she pleases.
Despite her current circumstances, Eva is bubbly and eternally optimistic. She likes to see the good in people and has a motherly nature, which leads her to constantly try to fix other peoples’ problems. She tends to put others before herself, can come off as being just a bit of an air head and has been known to cry when she sees others are sad…
But at the same time, there is a backbone of steel running through the woman. She will not stand idly by if she sees another person is hurting, and will fight to the death for those she loves.

Back when the Aztecs were the most powerful empire in the world, people were devoted to the Gods. They prayed for crops, for rain, for peace and for victory in war, and in return for their fulfilling their wishes, the people gave monthly sacrifices. Most were animals or piles of food and gold to appease the Gods, and combined with the devotion of their followers, the Gods were happy.
Eva Rombar, as she is called now, went by a different name during those happy days. Though what it was had been erased by time, she held onto those memories of better, brighter days. She was born to a King, who loved his children more than life itself. Under his rule, the Aztecs flourished, and peace reigned.
It was on the year of her 18th birthday, that an earthquake struck the empire, and a crack formed in the earth. From deep in the bowels of some, Godless world, a monster appeared and brought Hell with him.
He called himself Sagaen, Destroyer of all life, and waged war against the once peaceful people for dominion over the earth. The armies faced off, weapons bared, and Eva stood with her father and her people in defiance of the demon at their gates.
With one glance at the brave beauty on the palace ramparts, the demon decreed that he would leave their world alone, if he would be granted a virgin sacrifice.
The Princess herself.
The people in the city cried out in defiance, all willing to die for their beloved future Queen, but Eva knew that they didn’t stand a chance against the armies from a different world. Slipping past her father’s guards in the dead of night, she presented herself to the demon lord, and saved her people.
Down into the Hell that Sagan had come was she taken, and for centuries, there she remained. She was forced to lie with the despicable king, and everyday, did her best to escape to the world above. She refused to take the mantle of Queen, and was tortured for her defiance. It was only after she became with child that she began to become more docile toward the demon lord, and it was then that she hatched a plan.
When her son was born, she managed to escape from Sagaen’s domain, stealing her child away from the dark influences below. Knowing that she would never be able to keep her son safe from his dastardly father, she hid him away, leaving him on the doorstep of a family of farmers, who took in the baby and raised him as their own. Without the influence of his father around him, her son grew to become as normal as his adopted parents, and knew nothing about his origins.
She remained on earth for three years, watching over her child, loving him from afar. But sensing her husband’s men searching for her, she returned back to his domain, enduring the pain of his ‘love’ for her. More centuries passed and once again, Eva was able to escape.
Currently, she is living quietly in New Orleans, working as a waitress and doing her best to live as under the radar as she can. She keeps tabs on a woman named Rachel Morel, the last of her son’s bloodline, and is doing her best to protect her from afar.
A movie? They were being chased around by the epitome of Hit Men R US! and he wanted to stop and watch a MOVIE? Really? Wow, she’d finally found someone crazier than herself and her friend Arry put together. Sure, they were both cool under fire- she was used to being chased around by people, thanks to her Godfather- but this guy really knew how to compartmentalize. Maybe he’d show her how when everything died down? She wondered if he used some kind of Zen, or mental technique—
All such innocent thoughts faded when she saw that gun, and with a yelp, she jerked her hand out of his and took a step back. Careful to keep herself out of any of the window’s vicinities, she eyed him warily. And here she’d thought she’d found a nice Indiana Jones man.
Her and her brain.
“Well, with that thing pressed up against your leg, I hope that’s not a command, buddy,” Darling said before she could stop herself. Running a shaky hand through her irritatingly shorter hair, she looked him in the eye in order to stop herself from glancing around them like a paranoid shopper on the lookout for a marked down dress.
“My name’s Darling Benoix,” She said slowly, grasping her hands in front of her stomach. “But on any normal day…well, my real name’s Alixandria Hartdgen. I don’t know if you’ve heard of my father, Nicholas Hartdgen, but he was known for a…certain machine that he’d built. A machine that was destroyed thirty-something years ago, and a machine that I’ve rebuilt.” Twitching slightly as a woman’s high pitched laugh cut into her head, she resisted the urge to forget about the gun and go in for a comfort hug. “And, unfortunately for me, a machine that a lot of bad people want to use, and can’t use without me and my mental notes. After the last time some random whosawhatsit and its owner tried to steal it and use it for their own evil plans, I destroyed the blueprints and all of my notes. All of them, that is, except for the ones up here.”
Tapping her temple, Darling sighed, shoulders slumping a bit wearily. “So now they’re out to kidnap me, instead of my baby. So, are you gonna turn me over to them now, or demand that I use it for your own personal good? ‘Cause lemme tell you, Indie, I’m really too tired to start screaming like a damsel in distress. Again.”
