Abilities: The ability to control hydrokinesis, but she does not have great control over it. Typically the power starts due to heightened emotions, so she works on keeping herself calm. If her emotions get heightened all she has to do is look at an object and douse it with water, hence the reason for always trying to stay calm. One wrong move and she could crush someone under the weight of the water or just drown them in it. Keeping her emotions in check is the best control she has over it, for now. When her emotions are heightened, she finds it hard to have any control.
If she could harness the control a bit better she would learn that she can do many things with water molecules, from freezing to heating it or jellafy.
Personality: Very quiet individual by choice, not by nature. She used to be outgoing, but in order to keep her emotions neutral she does not like to get her emotions elevated. It goes so far that she comes off as shy and withdrawn from people, but she acts this way to keep herself from getting too involved and hurting someone. If her emotions do get elevated it’s suggested anyone around her hits the deck.

Bio: As a child Laila grew up in a normal, happy environment. She lived with her parents in Bluemont, Virginia. It was miles from a base that had many conspiracies behind it. Her father worked for the government out of this base. He was a scientist that worked on many different projects for them.
Laila and her mother Lisa visited her father on base quite often. It was something she enjoyed as a child. The structure was huge and vast. What she didn’t know was what went on below the surface. The government had hidden a major part of its facility below grounds. Things they did not want the public eye to know about.
This facility was working to create superhumans to use against the supernatural beings that had begun to pop up around them. Except they keep the supernatural happenings out of the public eye, not wanting to cause them fear.
One day Laila got away from her parents and wandered off, something she loved to do. She liked to wander and see new things. She stumbled upon this hidden facility. She was thirteen years old at the time, but she was considered compromised when she was found by an agent. They took her into a room with many other people that were being experimented on. She fought the whole way there.
She was locked in there for months. Her parents had no idea she was there. Since her father worked for the government and had access to areas below he stumbled upon her one day. It was there he learned they had injected her with something they were using to create these superhumans. He broke her out of there, but it was not without the family being hounded by the government.
As they were hunted Laila lost both of her parents as they tried to do all they could to keep her away from the government. The house they had been hiding out in was destroyed as her emotions lost control after seeing her parents killed. She crushed all the bodies inside the house, agents included.
She left Virginia after that and moved from one state to the next, constantly on the move. As a teenager it was a difficult life, but she learned a lot of things about herself, that high emotions would set her off. She was probably playing with fire by becoming a lifeguard, but that's what she went into because of her closeness to water. Lakes and oceans seemed to have a calming affect on her. Also, it was an easy job to snatch up as she moved from one place to the next, as well as keeping her near the water.
